- Other 1099 Payments: The University of Iowa files 1099-B (principal) and 1099-INT (interest) documents with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for calendar-year bond principal and interest payments made. The 1099 statements must be provided to the payees by January 31 of the following year. We began sending 1099-B’s in 1987 and 1099-INT’s in 2007 as required by the IRS.
